Centre for Factories of the Future Ltd

The Centre for Factories of the Future Ltd (C4FF) is an SME located in Kenilworth, UK and is the instigator of the Factories of the Future project in the UK and supported similar developments in the EU (1984-2004). C4FF has an established reputation for developing novel manufacturing systems and software for factory management including for lean practices. They also have many years of experience in ICT and manufacturing research and development as well as instrumentation and control projects. They have developed several CNC systems in collaboration with machine tool manufacturers. Their work has led to a new Clean Diesel and Management System.

INESC TEC is a private, non-profit association dedicated to scientific research and technological development, technology transfer, advanced consulting and training, and preincubation
of new technology-based companies. The University of Porto, INESC, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, the University of Minho and the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto
Douro are INESC TEC’s associates (UM and UTAD since February 2019), and in-place resource-sharing agreement with Universidade Aberta. Presently, INESC TEC’s main sites are
located in the cities of Porto, Braga and Vila Real, plus the Universidade Aberta Nucleus also develops its activity in Lisbon and Coimbra. At the end of 2018, INESC TEC hosted 745
integrated researchers (339 PhDs), including staff researchers, researchers from Higher Education Institutions, grant holders and affiliated researchers. INESC TEC’s team also includes trainees and technical and administrative support staff.

ARTES 4.0 “Advanced Robotics and enabling digital TEchnologies and Systems” Association (www.artes4.it) is a highly specialized Competence Center (CC) in the areas of advanced robotics and related enabling digital technologies. ARTES 4.0 is one of the 8 Competence Centers funded by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development to promote the utilization of Industry 4.0 Enabling Technologies among Italian businesses, focusing on SME, through training and innovation projects. The total funding available to ARTES from the Ministry is 10,660,000 Euro, of which 7,150,000 Euro for the establishment and start-up activities and 3,510,000 Euro to be directed to funding innovation projects in support of business demand. In addition to the MiSE funding, there is a very significant co-funding of members, approximately € 1.7 million of cash contributions and approximately € 17.7 million of in-kind contributions that include capital goods, technological resources, machinery, patents, human resources and know-how that members make available to the CC ARTES 4.0 initiative.
Since 1998, Polo Universitario Grossetano (University Hub of Grosseto) has been a fundamental institution for higher and university education in the territory of Maremma. It was at first established as a consortium, promoted by the City of Grosseto and the University of Siena, with the support of all the major institutes, the most representative actors of the labour market and the professional associations. In 2017, the consortium was transformed into a foundation, with 66 associates of various kinds. The primary object under the statuses is to promote university education in the area of Grosseto, with degree courses, master’s degrees, grad schools, higher learning, training courses for professionals, both as a follow-up to the storied relationship with the University of Siena and as an opening, in accordance with the very same, to new possibilities in education and research. Eight degree courses have been activated so far, all of them in IDL (Internet-based Advanced Distanced Learning) System. A thorough information campaign has led, over the years, to an increase in the student body: approximately 280 students, both locals and coming from the neighbouring areas, can now attend University in Grosseto. Along the Years, the Foundation has also conducted important research activities, both in the ecological field, with the Centre for Lagoon Ecology based in Orbetello, and with the various digs and laboratories within the degree course in Historical Science and Landmark Preservation.
The Mediterranean Maritime Research & Training Centre Coop Soc Ltd (MMRTC), is a training centre founded in 2011 by the Malta Maritime Pilots Coop Soc Ltd, with the primary objective to train Marine Pilots and conduct risk assessments for local and foreign ports. Today, trading as MaritimeMT, the centre offers seafarers & shore-based personnel the highest levels of tuition, training, development and research. MaritimeMT serves seafarers from all sectors of the maritime industry and offers training through 3 academies; Merchant Navy Academy, Small Crafts Academy & Superyacht Academy.
IDEC is a training consulting company located in Piraeus, Greece. Its activities consist of training, management consulting, quality assurance, evaluation and development of ICT solutions for both private and public sector. IDEC has been active the last 20 years in the field of EU projects. It has long experience in European policies regarding lifelong learning and in particular EQF, ECVET, Europass, EQAVET, validation of non-formal and informal learning, work-based learning & apprenticeship schemes and in national reforms of education and training systems.
